In 2005, HIMSS Analytics launched the EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM) to track adoption of EMR applications within hospitals and health systems. The EMRAM scores hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics™ Database on their progress in completing 8 stages (0-7), with the goal of reaching Stage 7 – where paper charts are no longer used to deliver patient care.

Since 1994, the HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence has recognized excellence in the implementation and value from health information technology, specifically EHRs. There are currently four award categories: Public Health, Organizational, Ambulatory, and Community Health Organizations.
CHIME is the professional organization for Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and other senior healthcare IT leaders. CHIME enables its members and business partners to collaborate, exchange ideas, develop professionally, and advocate the effective use of information management to improve health care in the communities they serve.

Given by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center (ANCC), hospitals that receive Magnet Designation satisfy a set of criteria designed to measure the strength and quality of nursing within a hospital. Hospitals with Magnet status have demonstrated their nursing practices delivering superior patient outcomes.
The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recognizes organizations that have demonstrated the ability to set industry standards on quality and have continuously showcased improvements to their business practices.
The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) recently awarded Truman Medical Centers with the Grace Award for innovative use of information technology to deliver health care.

The Leapfrog "Top Hospital" Award is recognized as the industry standard for measuring and reporting hospitals' performance in patient safety, quality, resource utilization. Hospitals that receive a Leapfrog "Top Hospital" Award are recognized for excelling in patient safety and quality of care.
The road to meaningful use of health information technology is riddled with detours, potholes and yield signs. Yet the 2013 H&HN Most Wired Survey proves that hospitals with well-crafted and well-mapped plans can motor their way toward successful adoption.
US News and World Report Best Hospitals provides a ranked list of the best centers in 16 adult specialties from cancer to urology based on data for nearly 5,000 hospitals and results from surveys of more than 9,500 physicians.
Truven Health Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters) recognizes the 15 Top Health systems in the United States, based on a composite score of eight quality measures, patient perception of care and efficiency. Six Cerner clients are on the list.

We are pleased to announce that the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) once again recognized Cerner Corporation as one of their ASTD BEST. There were 78 applicants and 28 were acknowledged and ranked at an awards gala held in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. Cerner ranked 9th, beating top companies such as UPS, Cigna, and USAA!

Last month, in an auditorium full of marketing and strategic business leaders from companies like Apple, IBM, McKesson, 3M and Yahoo!, the Cerner Vision Center was recognized as a World Class Briefing Center by the Association of Briefing Program Managers (ABPM). Specifically honored with an award of achievement for World Class Marketing, Cerner was one of only eight organizations to be recognized and was in great company with many of the fellow winners being from Fortune 100 conglomerates like Aetna, AT&T, Dell and Sprint.

Cerner won the 2009 Best Practices Award in Workplace Learning and Performance through Technology Innovations from ASTD, Kansas City Chapter. This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate significant improvement in integrating technology into learning interventions and showing measurable results of technology-enhanced learning experiences or improved efficiencies.

In 2009, the Community Blood Center awarded Cerner with the “Newcomer Award.” We were also received the “Community Star Club” award in 2009 and 2010. These awards were given to us for donating more than 400 units of blood a year.

Cerner was recognized as #45 on the Computerworld - 100 Best Places to Work in IT for 2013. Computerworld acknowledges that training IT employees is key to the success of Cerner, speaking specifically to the training that Cerner offers to their clients and associates. The “Advancing Conversion Excellence” (ACE) program was mentioned in detail. On the ACE trips Cerner employees travel to client sites to support end users engaged in the process of converting to Cerner systems. Cerner’s employee center features a gym, a cardio workout room, a weight lifting area, an indoor pool, racquetball courts and ping pong tables. Cerner has an onsite primary care medical clinic for their employees and dependents, and offers a full-service medical lab and a full-service pharmacy.

Started in 1980, the Kansas City Corporate Challenge is an Olympic-type event that allows Kansas City Area corporations to interact with each other through a variety of sporting events. In 2010, Cerner was named the Kansas City Corporate Challenge Champions.

Two Cerner associates, Nate Kelly and Erin Matyak, were named as Training Top Young Trainers to Watch by Training Magazine. To qualify, candidates were required to possess a minimum of three years' experience in the training field and manage one or more direct reports or lead a large-scale training/learning and development initiative.
