This prestigious designation is based upon a scoring system ranking hospitals that have received a HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence™ for at least six years running.

The ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) is the world’s largest association dedicated to workplace learning and development professionals. According to ASTD, the BEST Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success as a result of associate learning and development. Meaningful use is difficult to achieve; however, the nation's Most Wired hospitals are making progress. According to Health Care's 2011 Most Wired Survey, the biggest differentiator between the Most Wired organizations and other survey respondents is their ability to present patient documentation as structured data, one of the major criteria required for meaningful use under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Since 1994, the HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence has recognized excellence in the implementation and value from health information technology, specifically EHRs. There are currently four award categories: Public Health, Organizational, Ambulatory, and Community Health Organizations.

In 2005, HIMSS Analytics launched the EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM) to track adoption of EMR applications within hospitals and health systems. The EMRAM scores hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics™ Database on their progress in completing 8 stages (0-7), with the goal of reaching Stage 7 – where paper charts are no longer used to deliver patient care.

The Leapfrog "Top Hospital" Award is recognized as the industry standard for measuring and reporting hospitals' performance in patient safety, quality, resource utilization. Hospitals that receive a Leapfrog "Top Hospital" Award are recognized for excelling in patient safety and quality of care.

LearningElite program honors the best organizations for learning and development. This robust peer-developed, benchmarking program recognizes those organizations that employ exemplary workforce development strategies to deliver significant business results that benefit their organization, industry and the learning and development field.

Given by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center (ANCC), hospitals that receive Magnet Designation satisfy a set of criteria designed to measure the strength and quality of nursing within a hospital. Hospitals with Magnet status have demonstrated their nursing practices delivering superior patient outcomes.

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recognizes organizations that have demonstrated the ability to set industry standards on quality and have continuously showcased improvements to their business practices.

Modern Healthcare honors medical professionals who excel at using patient-care data to improve the clinical and financial performance of their organizations.

Everest Award winners are selected by strategically measuring and evaluating hospitals amongst the 100 Top Hospital Award winners. Everest Award recipients have achieved both the highest current performance and the fastest long-term improvement over five years on the 100 Top Hospitals Balanced Scorecard.

Thomson Reuters recognizes the 15 Top Health systems in the United States, based on a composite score of eight quality measures, patient perception of care and efficiency. Six Cerner clients are on the list.

Last month, in an auditorium full of marketing and strategic business leaders from companies like Apple, IBM, McKesson, 3M and Yahoo!, the Cerner Vision Center was recognized as a World Class Briefing Center by the Association of Briefing Program Managers (ABPM). Specifically honored with an award of achievement for World Class Marketing, Cerner was one of only eight organizations to be recognized and was in great company with many of the fellow winners being from Fortune 100 conglomerates like Aetna, AT&T, Dell and Sprint.

The Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles awards program acknowledges and rewards National Business Group on Health (NBGH) member companies demonstrating creative, comprehensive and effective solutions that improve employee health, productivity and well-being. Cerner has been named a Best Employer for Healthy Lifestyles for three consecutive years for its health & wellness initiatives for employees.

Cerner has received the Best in KLAS award for Application Hosting the past three years (2009-2011). Founded in 1996, KLAS is a research and analysis firm specializing in monitoring and reporting the performance of Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) vendors and Professional Services Firms (PSFs).

Cerner won the 2009 Best Practices Award in Workplace Learning and Performance through Technology Innovations from ASTD, Kansas City Chapter. This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate significant improvement in integrating technology into learning interventions and showing measurable results of technology-enhanced learning experiences or improved efficiencies.

In 2009, the Community Blood Center awarded Cerner with the “Newcomer Award.” We were also received the “Community Star Club” award in 2009 and 2010. These awards were given to us for donating more than 400 units of blood a year.

Cerner was recognized as #27 on the Computerworld - 100 Best Places to Work in IT for 2011. Computerworld acknowledges that training IT employees is key to the success of Cerner, speaking specifically to the training that Cerner offers to their clients and associates. The “Advancing Conversion Excellence” (ACE) program was mentioned in detail. On the ACE trips Cerner employees travel to client sites to support end users engaged in the process of converting to Cerner systems. Cerner’s employee center features a gym, a cardio workout room, a weight lifting area, an indoor pool, racquetball courts and ping pong tables. Cerner has an onsite primary care medical clinic for their employees and dependents, and offers a full-service medical lab and a full-service pharmacy.

Cerner received the 2012 Edington New Practice Award in recognition of the work that has been done to promote wellness among our employees. The Edington Next Practice Awards recognize organizations that are actively engaged in the pursuit of a health, high-performing workplace and workforce. This award specifically acknowledges companies that demonstrate unique approaches to improving the well-being of workplaces and employees, and excel in innovation and initiatives. Cerner was recognized for “Quality Assurance.”

2012 marked the second consecutive year Cerner was the recognized at the Healthiest Employer in their category by the Kansas City Business Journal. Healthiest Employers is an organization dedicated to promoting wellness in business. Started in 1980, the Kansas City Corporate Challenge is an Olympic-type event that allows Kansas City Area corporations to interact with each other through a variety of sporting events. In 2010, Cerner was named the Kansas City Corporate Challenge Champions.

Two Cerner associates, Nate Kelly and Erin Matyak, were named as Training Top Young Trainers to Watch by Training Magazine.
