Farrell Sanders, senior vice president and general manager, Cerner ITWorks™, manages the Cerner ITWorks business unit that provides a full suite of strategic and information technology services to Cerner clients. He reports to the chief operating officer. In addition to leading Cerner ITWorks, Sanders directly manages Cerner’s major support organizations including Cerner Connect, Application Management Services, the Upgrade Center and SolutionWorks. He also directs the Service Improvement, Engineering Operations and Improvement, and Managed Services Business Unit Management teams.
Sanders leads large, high-growth operational and quality improvement programs for both service and software organizations. Since joining Cerner in 2003, he has led many quality improvement initiatives including the ITIL process implementation for CernerWorks and the quality improvement plan for Cerner engineering. He was the lead executive/designer for the Lights On Network®, a community of Cerner clients sharing best practices to optimize and manage Cerner Millennium® operations.
Most recently, Sanders launched the Cerner ITWorks business to deliver strategic healthcare transformation. He pioneered the Cerner ITWorks Tier 1 Help Desk to optimize the clinician support experience and Cerner’s PeopleSoft Upgrade and Application Management practice to assist clients with their enterprise solutions.
Prior to joining Cerner, Sanders spent 15 years at Accenture, where he was most recently associate partner–corporate financial forecasting and planning. Before that, he served as finance director, operations manager and management consultant with Accenture.
Sanders earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business administration from Kansas State University.
