Robert Campbell


  • Robert Campbell, vice president and chief learning officer, leads Cerner’s Catalyst Organization. This group works across Cerner supporting front line teams and clients with a blend of education, communication and marketing expertise. Their objective is to influence opinions and behavior that will change Cerner, our clients, our communities, and ultimately, health and care.

    Before this role, Campbell led Cerner KnowledgeWorks, which he also founded. KnowledgeWorks applied leading-edge learning theory, technology and best practices in content management and social media to help Cerner associates, clients and business partners gain competence quickly.

    Campbell, who has 24 years of experience in learning and development and instructional technology, joined Cerner in February 1996. Prior to joining Cerner, he was with Andersen Consulting Education, where he focused on creating effective learning solutions for Andersen consultants. This included two years at the Institute for the Learning Sciences, an interdisciplinary organization affiliated with Northwestern University that draws from the fields of cognitive psychology, education and computer science to develop new models for learning.

    Campbell earned a master’s degree in computer science with an emphasis in artificial intelligence, cognitive science and educational software design at Northwestern University. He received his bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in human resource development from Brigham Young University.
