Eva Karp


  • Eva Karp, RN, MBA, vice president and general manager, Clinical Venues and Specialty ABU, is responsible for Cerner strategies and market direction related to orders, e-prescribing, pharmacy, nursing and ancillary services.

    In addition, Karp serves as Cerner’s Intellectual property (IP) lead for the academic and pediatric communities, and has participated in the Academic Advisory Board (AAB) and Pediatric Leadership Counsel (PLC) activities for four years.

    Karp joined Cerner in February 2001 as enterprise practice leader in Cerner Consulting. In that role, she was responsible for for CareNet® orders, documentation management, car coordination, PharmNet®, PowerChart Office® and INet® products, and Cerner’s patient care system for workflow automation.

    In 2002, her role expanded to include PharmNet and PowerChart Office to support the automation of the care delivery team across all venues.

    In 2005, Karp moved to a leadership role in the IP organization to define the strategic direction for solutions to meet objectives related to patient safety, clinical workflow, financial viability, regulatory standards and optimal outcomes across the continuum of care.

    Prior to joining Cerner, Karp was the vice president of clinical consulting at Eclipsys Corp. Karp joined Cerner with more than 16 years of experience in health care informatics and 12 years of neurological and surgical ICU clinical experience.

    She has held senior positions with leading software vendors, including IBAX, HBOC, Transition Systems and INC. She has held leadership positions in product management, internal and external training, testing methodologies, and clinical implementation and consulting services.

    Karp has an MBA from University of Phoenix, a bachelor’s degree in business management from Dowling College, and an associate’s degree in nursing from Miami Dade Community College.
