Having implemented interoperable EHR technology across its various clinical sites and within its departments, Children’s National Health System in Washington, DC, continues pressing forward with plans to improve advanced pediatric EHR use and the potential for this technology to improve the health outcomes of pediatric patients. “We are a fairly leading edge organization when it comes to health information technology in general but in pediatrics as well, having implemented most of the Cerner Millennium electronic health record and peripheral components throughout the organization over the last nine years here,” Children’s National Health System VP, CMIO, and CIO Brian Jacobs, MD, tells EHRIntelligence.com.
