Boca Raton Regional Hospital Selects Cerner's Clinical and Financial IT System
May 09, 2016
Boca Raton Regional Hospital (BRRH) has selected Cerner, a global leader in health care technology, to provide an integrated electronic health record (EHR) system.
Cerner’s integrated clinical, financial and operational platform will span BRRH’s acute and ambulatory facilities. The integration of clinical and financial data across the organization is also intended to help improve patient accounting across the continuum.
“From the emergency, pharmacy and laboratory departments to the billing and scheduling offices, our organization will be on one integrated system,” said Jerry Fedele, president and CEO of BRRH. “Our physicians and staff were involved in the selection process and are enthusiastic about the decision to replace our diverse platforms with one system that will house collective information from virtually every component of our organization.”
As a U.S. News & World Report’s 2015-2016 Top Ranked Regional Hospital that specializes in cardiovascular care, oncology, women’s health, orthopedics, emergency medicine and the neurosciences, BRRH physicians will benefit from the ability to customize Cerner’s specialty specific workflows.
“For many reasons, we are confident Cerner is the right long-term choice for us as we continue to provide high-quality, cost-effective care,” Fedele said. “Cerner is committed to our success and understands our needs today, as well as our goals for tomorrow.”
Located in a popular south Florida vacation and seasonal destination, BRRH often treats patients from across the country. For this reason, Cerner’s interoperability functionality will help the health system exchange patient information among providers across the U.S. using industry standards.
“We look forward to transitioning Boca Raton Regional Hospital to one integrated clinical and financial record,” said Zane Burke, president, Cerner. “Providers will benefit from access to patient records across the continuum and our collaborative efforts to enhance the clinician and patient experience.”
