Leaders at HIMSS12
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Feb. 13, 2012 –Cerner
(Nasdaq: CERN), along with several clients, will highlight achievements with health
care information technology in the Cerner booth (476) at the Healthcare
Information Management and Systems Society
(HIMSS) annual conference
and exhibition, Feb. 20-24, at the Venetian Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.
Dr.
Wendy Sue Swanson, blogger,
mother and pediatrician, will be in the Cerner booth on Feb. 23, starting at 10 a.m.
Swanson will discuss how using innovative technologies and social media allows
providers to connect with their patients in new ways.
Throughout
the conference, there will be numerous opportunities to speak with Cerner
clients and physician experts. Those sharing their accomplishments in the

- Mike Wallace, president and
chief executive officer of Fort HealthCare,
an integrated hospital and health system which provides quality health care to
the residents of an eight-community area, and operates the only hospital in
Jefferson County, Wis., will discuss strategic
alignments with Cerner, and building
healthy communities. – Feb. 21 at 3
p.m.
- Lisa Gulker, director of
clinical transformation at Detroit
Medical Center (DMC), the leading
academically integrated system in metropolitan Detroit and the largest health care
provider in southeast Michigan, will discuss smart unit implementation and
VitalsLink. – Feb 21 at 4 p.m.
- Patricia Natale, chief nursing
officer at DMC, will discuss core quality data, user adoption, abstractor

- Dr. David McCallie, vice president
of medical informatics at Cerner and Liz Johnson, vice president of applied
clinical informatics at Tenet
Healthcare, one of the largest
investor-owned health care delivery systems in the nation, will discuss Stage 2 of Meaningful Use.– Feb. 22 at noon.
- Dr. Christopher Tashjian, President
at River
Falls Medical Clinic, which encompasses three
clinics staffed by dedicated medical professionals with one mission: To provide
high quality health care to western Wisconsin communities, will discuss the ambulatory Meaningful Use attestation
experience. – Feb. 22 at 3 p.m.
- Dr. Jeffrey Schaider, emergency
medicine at Cook County Health and
Hospital System, a system which oversees a
comprehensive, integrated system of health care throughout Chicago and suburban
Cook County, will discuss physician
usability and the emergency department. – Feb. 22 at 5 p.m.
- Ed Martinez, senior vice
president and chief information officer at Miami Children’s Hospital,
a world leader in pediatric health care and home to Florida’s only
free-standing pediatric trauma center, will discuss the Cerner Vision. – Feb. 23 at
noon.
- Jeff Tindle, chief executive officer
at Carroll
County Memorial Hospital, a critical
access hospital in north central Missouri that has achieved HIMSS Stage 6 and
attested for Meaningful Use, will discuss CommunityWorks™.
– Feb. 23 at 3 p.m.
- Dr. Sajjad Yacoob, chief medical information officer at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, the
first and largest pediatric hospital in Southern California, will discuss transforming health care and Meaningful Use.
