Cerner Works With Tadmur Trading to Provide an Ambulatory Electronic Health Record to a Student Medical Center in Qatar

2013

DOHA, Qatar— Jan. 28, 2013 — Cerner and Tadmur Trading will work together to deliver an ambulatory Electronic Health Record (EHR) to a student medical center in Qatar. This is a first-of-its-kind project for Cerner, with a student medical center in the Middle East.

The Cerner Millennium® platform will enable the student medical center to store and consolidate patient information, enable clinical decision support, automate clinical processes and integrate workflow through the EHR. The solutions will digitize Ambulatory PowerChart®, Revenue Cycle Ambulatory, General Laboratory and Outpatient Pharmacy. Clinicians at the student medical center will also be able to document care and place medication and other orders directly in the EHR.

“By providing clinicians with access to medical best practice guidelines and ensuring that the right person has access to the right information at the right time; the Cerner system will help the medical center clinicians realize the importance of the growing need for more comprehensive patient-focused medical services,” said Mr. Raed Halawa, General Manager at Tadmur Trading.

Implementing Cerner solutions will benefit the student medical center and patients in a number of ways including:

  • Facilitating the highest standard of quality care: The use of standardized treatment guidelines promotes evidence-based, effective and consistent care for every patient while enabling quality improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Reducing the potential for transcription errors: All care is documented electronically, virtually eliminating the possibility of errors due to illegible handwriting.
  • Improving access to information: Clinicians and patients have instant access to patient information when and where they need it and no longer have to spend time searching or waiting for information.

"This is a significant milestone for Cerner to work with Tadmur Trading in Qatar,” said Greg White, Vice President and Managing Director, Cerner Middle East and Africa. “Together, we will design an advanced health information system to enable the student medical center to achieve its vision. We anticipate a long and mutually beneficial partnership in this new endeavor.”
