Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein Selects Cerner Millennium® Solutions to Streamline Operations

KANSAS CITY, Mo., U.S.A. and SAO PAULO — Sept. 23, 2013 — Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, a private, 647-bed hospital with eight ambulatory clinics in São Paulo, will be the first in Brazil to implement Cerner Millennium® health care information technology (HIT) solutions. The technology will help streamline operations in multiple areas of the hospital, while improving care for all patients.

Considered the best hospital in Latin America, Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein was the first outside of the United States to receive international accreditation from the Joint Commission International.

With the implementation at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, Cerner will have clients in 24 countries. Albert Einstein will be the first client to leverage Cerner Millennium in Portuguese.

The first phase of the project will include: translation of Millennium into Portuguese, Orders, Documentation, electronic medical record (EMR), Pharmacy, Patient Management, Billing, ER, ICU, Oncology, Cardiology, Laboratory, Surgery, Ambulatory process, Medication Administration, Women’s Health and various Lighthouse solutions among others across the main acute care facility and clinics. This project demonstrates the flexibility of the Cerner Millennium architecture to meet the language and workflow requirements of those in different countries around the world.
