Better Detection of MRSA Infections

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a life-threatening bloodstream bacterial infection that resists many antibiotics. This leads to prolonged patient hospitalization, as a result of an extended treatment plan and condition management.

After implementation of Cerner solutions and ICIS, detection of MRSA upon admission improved and compliance is now 100 percent. Better identification and protocols for patients at-risk for MRSA are improving safety and quality of care at KFSH&RC.
