The Cerner APACHE® Outcomes solution enables ICU professionals to measure and manage performance. Intensivists, nurses, physicians and data coordinators use the solution to compare their performance to national benchmarks and identify areas for process improvements.
APACHE is the industry leader among ICU severity scoring systems. It is referenced in more than 4,000 peer-reviewed critical care publications.
Improving outcomes
APACHE defines and captures data elements for outcomes measurement, provides regulatory and management reports and facilitates performance improvement in the ICU. The solution features the latest APACHE IV and MPMO-III severity adjusted outcome models -- as well as well-defined core clinical content and analysis capabilities -- to provide prognostic decision support throughout the patient's stay. Caregivers can objectively evaluate the current quality of care delivery and resource allocation relative to the APACHE database, which contains more than 1 million ICU patient records.
The caregiver -- at the bedside -- can access information on a patient's health status, severity of illness, ICU treatment needs and predicted outcomes. With APACHE Outcomes, you can also view reports on patient details, trends, most-severe physiology values for each day in the ICU, and comparisons of actual to predicted outcomes.
