As the country general manager for Cerner’s business in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, Akram Sami focuses on the overall strategy development for each nation, managing client relationships, and driving net new name business.
Having been in the UAE and based in Dubai for 15 years, Akram has a wide network and in-depth experience across the Gulf region with a keen interest in health care and defense sectors. He has earned the trust of clients and partners by establishing an advisory relationship with executives across the Gulf countries.
Akram joined Cerner in 2011 as a strategic client executive, developing the UAE and Kuwait markets. During his career at Cerner, he has held several roles with the company such as a senior client results executive leading on overall client strategy and roadmap development with government, public, and defense clients.
During his time at Cerner, Akram has contributed to the addition of net new name footprints, developed a healthy pipeline in the public and private sectors for new and existing markets, and successfully managed to establish Kuwait as a new market for Cerner. Akram brings a solid track record of success, driving efficiency and leading on new initiatives with his clients in the UAE and Kuwait.
Akram is a graduate of the American University in Lebanon, from where he has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
