Alaa Adel (AJ) is the senior vice president, managing director and leader of Cerner International, heading up the global business, and driving customer delivery excellence and growth across our global markets in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia and Latin America.
AJ empowers a diverse team of 2,000+ trusted professionals dedicated to the collaborative delivery of transformational digital healthcare, providing lasting value to caregivers, people and populations across an expanding international network.
Previously, as the vice president and managing director of Cerner Middle East and Africa, AJ led a team of general managers who worked closely with our global clients. He made an impact on clients and Cerner by leading his team to be trusted partners in helping our partner organizations achieve their goals and objectives.
AJ joined Cerner in 2009. He has held various roles within the company, such as sales executive and client results executive. He also spent five years in the CommunityWorksSM organization, where he made a significant impact on the organization’s growth and success. Before joining Cerner, he held different roles in healthcare sales at GE and Fuji Medical.
During his time at Cerner, AJ has contributed to the addition of new client footprints while managing existing strategic clients, and while leading the Middle East office, Cerner was named Best in KLAS for Global Acute Care EMR in Middle East/Africa. Additionally, through hard work and strong commitment, he successfully spearheaded the addition of the first Cerner client to achieve HIMSS Stage 7 outside of the United States, and continues to lead with the same effort, with many other fronts to advance our name and those of our clients in the global arena.
AJ is a graduate of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, has a Bachelor of Science in bio-medical engineering, and is now finishing his Master of Business Administration degree at Park University. He has also received various client recognitions and multiple sales and leadership awards such as the Forbes Middle East award for Global Meets Local 2021. AJ volunteers with service agencies and supports children’s organizations abroad.
