As the academic year draws to a close, it is an important time of the year for many students as they investigate and evaluate their career and course options along with their preferences for universities/colleges within Qatar and further afield.

As part of our continued efforts to support students in Qatar, Cerner Associates once again attended , the 2018 Gulf English School – Qatar Careers Fair. We had a stand and informed the students about Cerner as a company and careers in Cerner. This also provided students the opportunity to understand the importance of healthcare in Qatar's National Vision 2030, the increasing importance of technology in driving the 2018 National Health Strategy and the important role Cerner is playing in helping achieve this to a point where today the State of Qatar is now ranked 13th Best Healthcare system in the world and 1st in the Middle East.

The fair was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, chairman of Al Faisal Holding, who commended the work Cerner is doing in Qatar, and our support for the event.

The Gulf English School opened in 1993 to meet the need for an educational facility which would provide a broad and balanced curriculum based on the English National Curriculum and offer an Arabic Language and Islamic Studies programme as authorized by the Supreme Education Council. The school is housed in modern purpose-built facilities of a coeducational programme up until Year Five and a segregated programme from Year Six onwards with a large number of Qatari national students enrolled.
