Impressive Numbers: Cerner Ambulatory's Best in KLAS

For most physician practices, having roughly 95% of patients on a portal is a pipe dream. For Dr. Michael Salesin, it’s just another day at his Walnut Lake OB-GYN office.

Salesin has been a Cerner user for 15 years – since Y2K, he likes to say, due to his work at Detroit Medical Center. His five provider practice has been an ambulatory client since 2007.

“We could not imagine practicing without this technology,” said Salesin.

Salesin’s impressive numbers are buoyed by some others: as an application service provider (ASP) client, he has roughly 550 Cerner Ambulatory associates working for him, and his more than 4,000 patients, behind the scenes every day.

Cerner Ambulatory’s PowerChart EMR Ambulatory™ just received the 2014 Best in KLAS Award for Ambulatory EMR (1-10 Physicians).  Cerner ranked in KLAS’s top five for Ambulatory EMRs for physician practices with more than 75 physicians, making Cerner an impressive #3 overall in physician practice vendor rankings.  The official announcement was made last week.

“I’m not at all surprised that PowerChart won the award,” said Salesin soon after the announcement. “I really like the product. It’s a different approach to the documentation of healthcare. It’s head and shoulders above the other electronic health records out there.”

This is the first time Cerner Ambulatory has been recognized with the Best in KLAS award. But it isn’t the first time clients in the physician practice setting have praised Cerner Ambulatory. Click on the image below to see what other providers in small practices say.
