This year's European Collaboration Forum was very successful with more than 300 visitors coming from all over the world! This event was a fantastic opportunity for our clients, associates and prospects to inspire and be inspired by what can be achieved when working together. The focus of this year's event was the benefits Cerner’s workflows offer to clients.

The theme was "Innovate. Anticipate. Engage." We focused on the importance for healthcare organisations to partner with Cerner in order to improve health care, strengthen the health of communities and advance positive changes from within.

Twenty-four client led education sessions were on offered, as well as four benefits tours, which focused on streamlining of the Discharge Before Lunch Process, Improving Emergency Department Patient flow, Safer ICU Care, and Population Health.

Across the event, three brilliant keynotes were delivered from some of healthcare’s most influential professionals, who shared their expertise, best practices and lessons learned, with the following themes:

  • Transforming Care through Medication Management – People, Process, Technology and Environment
  • Strategic Partnership
  • Population Health Management Systems: Going Beyond Integrated Care

These sparked some great conversations and allowed our clients and prospects in particular to truly see Cerner as a transformation partner rather than an IT vendor. A partner that looks beyond the four walls of the hospital.

As some of our clients said, “We can now go back to our Trust informed and make the right decision.”

This would not have been possible without our clients, associates and sponsors!

Battling sepsis on World Sepsis Day and beyond

by Jennifer Yang-Meslet
13 September 2018
This World Sepsis Day, over 20,000 people will die from the condition, including 120 in the UK, and according to the Dr Foster research unit at Imperial College London, more deaths from sepsis are being reported. However, when drilling down further into the data, the main reason for the increase is improved awareness of sepsis. Doctors and nurses are recognising deteriorating patients earlier and are coding sepsis cases more accurately. This has led to a rise in coding for sepsis, and a subsequent increase in known sepsis-related deaths.
