As our presence in the global market continues to grow – particularly in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and across Europe – we remain committed to continuously ensuring we bring our best to our clients and their organisations. We aim to do this through value-driven partnerships and a truly global, experienced team. With this in mind, Cerner is pleased to announce recent leadership changes that will continue to broaden the support we provide to our clients.
United Kingdom
Our ability to deliver high-quality projects lies in building global knowledge and experiences that our clients can feel locally. To support this, Geoff Segal, who served as general manager in the United Kingdom since 2014, will now lead consulting operations for Cerner across our entire non-U.S. business as the vice president of global consulting.
With Geoff’s move into a new role, we are excited to announce Distie Profit ’s appointment as the new general manager for Cerner UK. Distie has played a key role in Cerner’s growth in the UK and in the broader non-U.S. market. In 2008, three years into her Cerner career, Distie moved to London with the aim of establishing and leading the development of direct client engagement. This led to the launch of a client reference programme for Europe and the creation of the Collaboration Centre, a 24,000-square-foot meeting and experience space located in the heart of London, where the Cerner UK offices are based.
Prior to her appointment as general manager for the UK, Distie was the senior executive responsible for corporate affairs; client reference and optimisation; marketing and communications; and sales support organisations across Cerner’s existing and emerging markets outside the United States. Her leadership and experience have been key in the development of strategies and campaigns to advance the delivery of various models of care. Distie’s passion for innovation in healthcare and wellness will help drive Cerner UK towards our goals of smarter care, better outcomes and healthier populations.
Ireland
Under the leadership of Matthew Pickett, who has served as the general manager for Cerner Ireland for the past three years, Ireland has become a major development and support hub for our global operations. Matt has been instrumental in sealing contracts that significantly increased Cerner’s exposure in the country, including the negotiation of terms with the Health Service Executive (HSE) in Ireland for the provision of a nationwide maternal and newborn electronic health record (EHR), and a national laboratory information system.
From 1 January 2019, Matt continues to support and promote the Cerner vision from a different role, assuming a new worldwide position as the senior director for global marketing and corporate affairs, allowing him to build upon Distie Profit’s previous success.
As Matt transitions to his new role, an opportunity arises for someone else to lead Cerner’s operations in the country and continue to drive value for our Ireland-based clients. To this end, we have great pleasure in announcing David Clancy as the new general manager for Cerner Ireland.
A native of County Wicklow in Ireland, David originally worked as an economist advising Irish public service providers on the likely impact of population ageing on society. Building on this, he worked as a strategic advisor to a number of Irish connected health start-ups and SMEs, before moving to work more closely with Irish healthcare providers.
David joined Cerner in 2015, working as the client results executive for HSE and voluntary hospital clients in Ireland. Since then, he has worked closely with both client and Cerner leadership teams to help deliver Ireland’s first five hospitals with extensive EHR systems. David also became a member of the Cerner Ireland board of directors in January 2018.
Emil Peters, president of Cerner Global, welcomed the announcements, saying:
“We are proud of the work we have been privileged to do together with our clients to support them in the advancement of their digitisation agendas. By keeping the core leadership team involved and consistent, these changes will go a long way to support our joint success and represent a great step forward for Cerner in the UK and Ireland, as well as for all of our clients and industry partners.”
