The awards recognise healthcare centres across Ireland for their innovative work to drive staff excellence and high-quality patient care.
In 2019, the team from St James’s Hospital (SJH) in Dublin received the Best Use of Information Technology award for their electronic patient records (EPR) implementation project, Project Oak. The EPR, supported by Cerner Millennium®, went live in October 2018 through a big-bang approach that turned SJH into the first digital general acute hospital in the country.
The national Tech Excellence Awards recognise companies in the industry for their excellence in the implementation of innovative tech solutions in Ireland’s private and public sectors. In 2018, Ireland’s Health Service was honoured in the Public sector – IT project of the year category for their Maternal & Newborn Clinical Management System (MN-CMS) powered by our open and interoperable Millennium® EHR platform.
In June 2018, Wirral Partners - a partnership of local health and care providers in the Wirral peninsula - won the Digital Transformation to Better Manage Population Health award for their Healthy Wirral project, focused on improving the outcomes and the wellbeing of Wirral residents through an integrated care approach powered by Cerner’s HealtheIntent platform and Health Information Exchange (HIE) technology.
The Ireland eGovernment Awards recognise the innovators and forward thinkers who are pioneering changes and helping deliver better online services for Irish citizens. Ireland’s Health Service Executive have been honoured in the Health and Medical category for the Maternal and Newborn Clinical Management System (MN-CMS), which allows the sharing of mother and baby health records.
Since 1994, the HIMSS Nicholas E Davies Award of Excellence has recognised excellence in the implementation and value from health information technology, specifically EHRs. There are currently four award categories: public health, organisational, ambulatory, and community health organisations.
In 2005, HIMSS Analytics began tracking the adoption of electronic health record (EHR) applications within hospitals and health systems. Organisations’ progress is ranked on an eight-stage scale (zero to seven), with the goal of reaching Stage 7, where paper charts are no longer used to deliver patient care.
The NHS has established 16 Global Digital Exemplars to showcase the benefits of world-class digital technology. Cerner partners with six of these GDEs: Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (with Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust) and Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
CHIME is the professional organisation for Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and other senior healthcare IT leaders. CHIME enables its members and business partners to collaborate, exchange ideas, develop professionally, and advocate the effective use of information management to improve healthcare in the communities they serve.
These award recognise the ongoing contributions individuals have made to HIMSS and the healthcare sector.
The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recognises organisations that have demonstrated the ability to set industry standards on quality and have continuously showcased improvements to their business practices.
US News and World Report Best Hospitals provides a ranked list of the best centers in 16 adult specialities from cancer to urology based on data for nearly 5,000 hospitals and results from surveys of more than 9,500 physicians.
The Best in KLAS awards celebrate providers that have taken significant strides to improve healthcare while also dealing with the ever-changing nature of the market. The Cerner Millennium® PAS was named the best in Europe at the 2017 ceremony.
