It’s important for both patient and provider that the cost for care is clear, accurate, and easy to collect. With a focus on a clinically driven revenue cycle, financial considerations should be evaluated and actively addressed throughout the encounter and not just as a step during the billing process.

Cerner RevElate, our new patient accounting solution, is designed to make the complex billing process less complicated, less time intensive, and more successful for your organization, for your patients, and the unsung heroes in your billing offices,” said Brenna Quinn, senior vice president and chief product officer, Oracle Health.

By integrating seamlessly with Cerner Millennium® EHR, Cerner RevElate can help healthcare organizations leverage real-time clinical data to drive more accurate claims, expected reimbursement, and financial balances based on regulatory and contractual requirements. Advanced automation reduces complexity and removes repetitive tasks that burden your billing and operations, such as applying self-pay or insurance adjustments.

With an initial release due later this year, this clinically driven solution offers scalability to fit the needs of large, complex enterprise clients. It represents the acceleration of our patient accounting platform convergence strategy, as well as the focus of our roadmap on automation and extensibility.

When connected to other Cerner Revenue CycleSM products and the EHR, Cerner RevElate Patient Accounting can help drive upstream capabilities to identify charge corrections when charges post. The automation and payer intelligence reduces the need for the revenue cycle department to contact providers to resolve charge issues after coding and ultimately claim denials.

Cerner RevElate is designed to help your organization:

  • Reduce workflow redundancies and allow your most valuable people to dedicate their time to higher-value tasks by providing automation and intelligence throughout the billing cycle

  • Connect workflows across organizations and technologies with an open, extensible framework that can support workflows across Oracle Cerner, as well as third-party technologies

  • Manage your workflows across venues with a single, efficient end-user experience

  • Improve the patient experience, like automatically triggering payer workflows as clinical events occur

For existing patient accounting clients, we are creating a seamless transition to Cerner RevElate with the development automation tools designed to simplify the conversion process.

“Patient accounting is critical to your business. That’s why we’re investing to ensure an easier implementation experience for new clients and an easier upgrade experience for current Cerner Millennium patient accounting clients,” Quinn said.

These conversion tools will help automate the build and migration process, such as automating the pull of Cerner Millennium reference data and mapping things like locations and general ledger using Cerner RevElate formats to help ease the data migration. We are also building a capability that lets users manage receivables from both Cerner RevElate and Cerner Millennium patient accounting solutions together in one single workflow.

“With Cerner RevElate, we’re committed to delivering high-performing capabilities and a more predictable implementation or conversion experience … all while addressing the feedback we’ve heard from clients,” Quinn said.
