Melior and Obstetrix

Melior and Obstetrix are our legacy solutions following the acquisition of Siemens Health Services in 2015. Melior is a complete electronic patient record system that supports both inpatient and outpatient care for 32 hospitals in Sweden. Obstetrix is a complete pregnancy cycle support and patient record system that follows the entire pregnancy cycle in a logical and structured manner. Over 90 percent of Swedish births are registered in Obstetrix with more than 35,000 users nationwide.

Melior

Melior's main functions are clinical documentation, medication, laboratory and referrals:

  1. Clinical documentation is well structured and based on templates and elements that the client defines. There are many opportunities to build structured templates, and the navigation section enables the creation of a good overview of existing health record information. This also includes information from other parts of Melior, such as referrals and letters/certificates, as well as from external systems in the form of health record links, for example from digital dictation.
  2. Medication has functionality for ordering, administration and e-prescription. Melior is integrated with several of Sil's National Services, with four million e-prescriptions sent from Melior to the e-Health authority each year. It is also possible to send a cancellation transaction of the prescription. Melior can also be integrated to the national infection tool and dose dispensing.
  3. Laboratory and referrals: chemistry lab and x-ray referrals can be distributed from Melior to different laboratory disciplines. The results are displayed in Melior and can be signed.

With a structured data storage, import and export of data utilised in the many add-ons is simple.

Obstetrix

Obstetrix consists of four main modules:

  1. Maternity care: includes demographic data, obstetric and gynaecological history, registration of maternity care and journal notes.
  2. Maternity ward: the module is designed to cover all journal requirements in a maternity/postnatal ward.
  3. Ultrasound: the ultrasound module is available in two versions - standard and advanced. The standard ultrasound is used for normal pregnancy, the advanced ultrasound is used for a more complicated pregnancy.
  4. Time scheduling: allows the care professional to create their own calendar bookings for patient visits, meetings and reservations, providing the user with a flexible and intuitive time scheduling tool. Individual and group patient bookings are also supported through the national 1177 Care Guide service (1177 Vårdguiden).

The modules are well integrated with one another, using a common database for all data storage. Each medical unit may be configured to access other medical units, and each module can also be used separately. From all modules, statistical reports, quality surveys and raw data can be extracted from the system, such as the Robson Report, SFOG and Ultra ARG quality reports. Obstetrix is adapted to meet patient data law requirements for consent, active selection and logging. In addition, it is possible to integrate with external patient data blocking service. Obstetrix also has integrations with national e-services such as 1177 Care Guide Service (1177 Vårdguiden) and Patient Journal via Internet (Journal på Nätet)
