  • Developing Solutions

    Cerner software engineers are the brains responsible for some of the most innovative health care technology in the world. They program in a variety of languages, including (but not limited to) Java, Ruby, Objective-C, Scala, C++, C# and Clojure. They leverage technologies like J2EE, Rails, Chef, Github, Maven, MongoDB and Hadoop, among others to deliver solutions that help make you, your friends and your family live safer and healthier.

    Our software engineers have a passion for learning new technologies and remain flexible and prepared for the next “new thing.”

    This community drives initiatives such as local meetups, Hack Nights and our Engineering Health blog. Our team hosts DevCon, an annual conference for all Cerner engineers, and supports external conferences, like Ruby Midwest, StrangeLoop, EclipseCon and AWS re:Invent.

  • Driving Change

    Cerner system engineers manage complex information and design systems that support clients and Cerner business around the world. They install and support both Cerner and third-party software and are responsible for the design and implementation of data interfaces with non-Cerner information systems.

    Our system engineers collaborate with internal and external teams to analyze requirements, design information flow and implement processes.

    They work with different technologies and operating systems, including (but not limited to) AIX, Linux, VMS, Windows, Citrix, Websphere and Oracle and leverage this technology to build systems designed for optimal performance, recoverability and availability.
