Critical Care Research Based on PICCM Databases
The Version 2 and Version 3 Project IMPACT® databases are currently populated with hundreds of thousands of records for patients treated in a cross-section of intensive care units in the United States and beyond. These databases are now available for use by qualified investigators. The IMPACTessential and IMPACTsepsis central databases are also beginning to grow.
Proposals are invited for hypothesis-driven, results-oriented research questions relevant to the science and practice of critical care medicine that have the potential for publication in appropriate scientific journals.
Several abstracts and articles have already been published.
Details on the research application and review processes and associated costs are presented in this section. Procedures for industry access to PICCM databases are also described.
Mission Statement
Working in conjunction with the SCCM Research Committee, the PICCM Research Committee exists to advance, promote, and expand research activities and scholarly pursuits into the science and practice of critical care medicine via the use of the multi-center, multi-national PICCM central databases.
