Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer
As senior vice president and chief information officer, Bill Graff has global responsibility for Cerner’s corporate information technology (IT) supporting more than 27,000 Cerner associates in 26 countries. He also oversees Cerner’s infrastructure engineering, security and IT governance teams that support Cerner solutions at client facilities.
Bill’s teams deliver highly available, secure and cost-effective infrastructure for Cerner’s clients all over the world. Internally, his teams provide a reliable, secured infrastructure and the application portfolio to continually improve Cerner associates’ productivity and satisfaction.
He joined Cerner in 2005 as a senior manager of Infrastructure Operations. As the remote hosting operations grew, his role expanded to that of director, vice president and senior vice president. In 2011, Bill took on full responsibilities for Cerner’s corporate IT and was promoted to chief information officer in 2016.
Bill and his teams have been instrumental in supporting the successful growth of the company through the deployment and utilization of technology. Under his leadership, Cerner’s integration of Siemens Health Services IT was successful. The infrastructure his teams manage is a key contributor to Cerner’s hosting services growth and have won nine consecutive Best in KLAS awards.
Prior to joining Cerner, Bill spent 17 years in various IT roles spanning retail, petrochemical, nuclear, and fossil power generation industries.
Bill earned his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and serves on the board of advisors/CxO councils for Hewlett Packard Enterprises, Intel Corporation and VMWare. He has been recognized by Computerworld as a Premier 100 IT Leader.
