Chief Marketing Officer
As senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Darrell Johnson oversees Worldwide Marketing, Corporate Communications and Market Intelligence at Cerner.
Darrell joined Cerner in 2019. He has deep expertise in health care data ecosystems and is recognized as a leader in market innovation and global brand positioning for devices, software, services and data management platforms.
Before joining Cerner, he served as vice president of Corporate Data Strategy—Business Solutions at Medtronic, a $30B global health care company that develops and distributes medical devices. Prior to that, he was vice president and general manager of Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) Connected Care business line and vice president of Global Strategy and Marketing for their $5 billion global cardiac device portfolio. Prior to his career at Medtronic, Johnson served in a variety of leadership positions at GE Healthcare, including general manager of telemetry and networking.
Darrell has significant experience in product development, product marketing and data strategy. He has proven success in introducing integrated solutions and services that impact clinical and economic outcomes, reduce cost and increase efficiency. He has led successful product development efforts and product launches, as well as acquisition and partnership integrations.
Darrell holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Carlson School of Management.
