Chief Financial Officer
As executive vice president and chief financial officer, Marc has executive responsibility for Cerner’s financial operations and business model.
Playing a key role in Cerner’s rapid rise, Marc ensures the company is growing profitably while maintaining the ability to invest heavily in future growth. Additionally, he carries responsibility for Cerner properties and legal functions, which are both large organizations that facilitate Cerner’s growth.
Joining Cerner in 1992 as a finance executive and tax manager, Marc established the company’s internal tax function. He then assumed leadership of Cerner’s mergers, acquisitions and finance activities. He served as the director of finance for two years before being promoted to chief financial officer.
Prior to Cerner, Marc had extensive experience in the financial industry, including at Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) and various financial management roles at the Marley Company, a Kansas City, Mo.-based multinational manufacturing company.
Marc is a certified public accountant and a member of the Kansas Bar Association. He is a past president of the Kansas City chapter of the Tax Executives Institute and a current member of the University of Kansas Finance Advisory Board.
Marc earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University and a juris doctorate from the University of Kansas.
