In episode 17 of The Cerner Podcast, Greg Kuhnen, senior director of The Advisory Board, discusses interoperability, patient engagement and overall consumerism in health care.

"There are things we know patients want, things like the ability to message their clinicians in a secure way that they trust and actually get a response," Greg says. "That is a patient demand, and we've seen patients use it when it's available to them."

In this episode, Greg answers these questions:

  • You work with health care providers, big and small, every day. Share your perspective on what's happening at the ground level and what providers are feeling day-to-day.
  • What do you see is the new marketplace for open app experience in health care?
  • What kind of activity are you seeing in the app space or just broadly in the market as organizations advance their brands?
  • Is consumer connectivity and interoperability working?
