In anticipation of having to treat overwhelming numbers of patients with COVID-19, hospitals are cancelling elective procedures. Additionally, patients developed overwhelming fears of contracting the virus if they sought healthcare services at hospitals. Their fear was so overwhelming that people were even electing not to go to emergency rooms for needed care.
Hospitals are reopening elective surgery services and testing. Hospital leadership and caregivers must demonstrate that hospital settings are as safe as they are needed and effective to get patients to put aside their previous fears. Providers must make scheduling, testing functions, and surgery/procedure processes as seamless as possible to keep patient facing time as short as possible.Download white paper
